Budget Woes

The budget President Obama proposed Monday sucks a mind-blowing $2 trillion in new taxes from working Americans over the next decade. Uncle Sam's cut of U.S. output will rise by nearly half a trillion dollars in the next two years (that's a 13.5 percent jump).

Who’s going to get nailed? One way or another – just about everyone, you lucky dog!
And most people won't even know what hit them because Obama & Co. pretend they’re just going to do away with "tax cuts for the wealthy.” The middle class is going to get smacked because it's likely to see a range of their deductions curbed or cut.
But wait! There’s more -- like a 33 percent jump in the capital-gains tax and new levies on banks and oil companies that you will ultimately get to pay even if you don't know it.
But, hey, it’s okay because all these new taxes will wipe out the federal deficit, right? Dream on. While you’re forking over more and more of your cash, the extra money won't remotely keep up with the new spending Obama has planned. Under his budget, outlays grow to $3.8 trillion in 2011, a 29 percent spike since just 2008.
Here’s something to think about. How many Americans agree with Obama and the Dems who think the U.S. should be just another a member of the world community and not a super-power; that we use too many of the world’s recourses; and we need to be taken down a notch or two?
One has to wonder if those who agree have stopped to think it’s precisely because the U.S. is a super-power that it can spend billions every year helping other countries; can send seemingly unlimited help when there’s a disaster such as Haiti or the tsunami; is the one country other countries can and do rely on.
Yet, rhetoric aside, the president doesn’t seem to care.
Are you fed up yet?......Lynda Gurr Thursday 02/04/2010
